Proceeds from the BBQ are used to subsidize fees for Boy Scout summer camp each year. This year Troop 410 will attend Camp Hunt near Logan, Utah the last week of July. Troop 410 has been sending an average of over 30 Scouts to summer camp each year for more than a decade.
The BBQ also helps send boys who are 13 years old or older to Silver Moccasin Leadership Camp. There have been as many as seven at a time attending this camp. During the week-long training they learn valuable leadership skills.
Fund-raising proceeds also help purchase camping gear and subsidize outing and activity fees for individual boys who deserve financial assistance. The Troop wants every member to have an equal opportunity, no matter their family's financial situation.
We are a multi-denominational Troop with diverse social and economic backgrounds because we draw from all over the valley, as well as into the nearby mountains, for our membership.
Scouting is a character-building program and all of us are committed that each interested boy who joins our Troop deserves to experience every opportunity, including: the Klondike Derby, the overnight at the Brighton Wasatch Mountain Club for a ski weekend, the snowshoe/snow cave outing at Guardsman Pass, Summer Camp, Council Leadership Development trainings, our 25 to 50 mile cycling outings, and many community service projects.
Troop 410 has had over 130 Scouts earn the Eagle Scout Award, the first in 1953 and more each year since. Many of those young men benefited from your generous support of our Buffalo BBQ Dinner. Thank you very much for your support. See all 133 Eagle Scouts on our Eagle Scout Honor Roll.
